Love – Day 14

It’s the day of LOVE!  Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!!

This Valentine’s Day (and every other day) I am one of the luckiest women in the world.  There is no man in the world who could love my kind of “crazy” like M does.

This Valentine’s Day (and every other holiday to be honest) M and I get so excited about our gifts that we end up giving or telling early.  Sometimes it’s just a day or two and others it’s like a whole month early.  So on Saturday we decided to exchange gifts after Colin had went to bed.  I had gotten M a total “Man Basket” full of different beer, bourbon and cigars.  Finally, I picked out something on my own and he loved it!  Now my gift wasn’t exactly here yet, but he was kind enough to show me the order receipt for a pair of boots that I have been pining over for quite some time (see previous posts).  On Monday my sweet M IM’s me to tell me he has some very bad news…. my boot order was cancelled because they did not have my size anymore.

Needless to say I was very upset, (a) I really wanted those boots.  I have been on the hunt for a pair of boots for about six months, maybe longer, and until these fabulous Steve Madden boots caught my eye no boot compared.  I just knew I would never find another boot I liked better and I would probably not order the boots again even IF they came back in stock (b) I just knew I wouldn’t have anything for Valentine’s and as bratty as this sounds I wanted something that showed he had put thought into it and I know he had with the boots since he listened to me whine over every girl I saw with a pair or maybe he was just tired of the whining, but I prefer the former (c) why did we have to get so excited and exchange early before they were even here?!?!

SO…. Monday at lunch I was VERY pouty and VERY bratty!  Monday night I was still pouty and bratty!  I kept asking him why he didn’t order earlier if that is what he was going to do, why did I have to be last on his list of things to do, why did he not think ahead?!?!?!  I was a total “B word” for real!  I am so embarrassed by my behavior.  I don’t think I have ever acted so childish in our marriage before.

At the end of my rant I look at M and say, “I’m sorry that I’m such a brat!”  He looks back and just smiles.  He then tells me that he has something for me in the car.  After our lunch my sweet, kind, thoughtful and understanding husband went to our favorite go to shop and bought me a gorgeous necklace.  Not only did he do that but he also called the store in which my boots were coming from and guess what……..

They were having “technical issues” and actually had the boot in my size.  He re-ordered them again and they shipped out today!

So in my brattiest and most inconsiderate of times my husband overlooks all of that and loves me and the little bit of “crazy” that comes with me, therefore making me the luckiest and most proud woman ever!!!
